Senior Bargains in Adirondacks, Catskills, Poconos, New Jersey

Frugal skiers and snowboarders over 65 get cheap lift tickets especially at smaller winter resorts in the mid-Atlantic states.

Like to ski close to home in Pennsylvania but also sometimes hit the slopes in New England? The Nor'Easter Season Pass.costs $749 and is good the entire season at Attitash and Crotched Mountain in New Hampshire, Mount Snow and Carinthia in Vermont, as well as to the popular twins, Jack Frost and Big Boulder in Pennsylvania. For just Jack Frost/Big Boulder, ski free if over 70, or $32 midweek, $36 weekend for those 62-69. (You don’t need to be 65 here.)

Ski the Poconos Cheaply

  • In the eastern mountains of Pennsylvania, there are great deals at Alpine Mountain in Analomink, PA. Seniors over 70 can get an all day ticket for $12 midweek, or $18 weekends and holidays.
  • Another value is Camelback Mountain. A midweek day ticket for those 65 and over is $31, or $29 if you buy online. On the weekends, those prices jump to $39, or $37 online.

Southern and Western Pennsylvania

  • At Whitetail, in Southern Pennsylvania just one and a half hours drive from Washington, DC; Harrisburg; or Baltimore – skiers over 65 get 50 percent off the midweek nonpeak day plus evening ticket of $53.
  • In Southwestern, Pennsylvania at Seven Springs, one hours drive from Pittsburgh, adults over 80 ski free. Adults 70-79 receive half price off the regular rate of $41 midweek all day or $52 weekend day.

Upstate New York Deals

  • At the big daddy of northern New York resorts, Whiteface, the over 70 crowd skis free all year long, every day. Those 65-69 pay $60 on a regular day, $64 on holidays.
  • At Gore Mountain in the Adirondacks at North Creek, one and a half hours from Albany, everyone over 70 can ski free. Seniors 65-69 pay $52 midweek for a full day, $55 on a weekend day.
  • At West Mountain, in the Adirondacks at Glens Falls, those over 70 pay just $10 midweek for a full day. The over-70 crowd must pay the same as skiers 65-69 on weekends. During the week, the price for 65-69 is $20, but it rises to $39 on weekend days.
  • In Cortland, NY at Greek Peak, Wednesdays are special for those 65 and over – a lift ticket is just $34.

Catskills and Near New York City

  • Hunter Mountain, a favorite of New Yorkers, offers those 65-69 a day ticket costing $35 midweek $41 weekend. For those70+, day ticket is $15 midweek, $20 weekend and those70 or over can buy a club season pass for just $89.
  • At Windham Mountain, near Ellicottville in the Catskills, seniors over 65 ski or ride weekdays for half price, just $25. Those who are 75 or over and can prove it ski or ride free.
  • At Catamount on the Massachusetts border in Columbia County, those 65-69 pay $45 on weekends, $32 on non-holiday Fridays and $20 midweek for an all day tickets. Those 70-79 pay $36 on weekends, $20 Monday through Friday. And those over 80 ski free.
  • Finally at Mountain Creek in Vernon, NJ, those 65 and over pay $39 midweek, or $49 Friday, Saturday and Sunday for an all day ticket.
