Senior luxury cruise enthusiasts sure to enjoy 12-days of movie and theater stars in "Theater at Sea" while calling on Mediterranean Italian and other ports.

Senior movie stars and great theater names are featured in the new “Theatre at Sea” show during the 12-day "Italian Treasures" cruise from Venice to Monte Carlo, on the Crystal Serenity, the luxury cruise line announced. A top choice for all theater lovers, but especially those over 50, the 2008 cruise lifts anchor September 12.

The performers bring to the Serenity a series of one-woman remembrances and autobiographical plays, as well as a Broadway and TV duo and other favorites.

Redgrave, Rowlands and Neal

Lynn Redgrave, the Golden Globe-winning actress, who performs Nightingale, a captivating ancestral story from her five-generation theatrical family

Gena Rowlands, Oscar-nominated and Emmy-winning actress, who presents her latest film, Broken Promises, winner of the Grand Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival;

Patricia Neal, Academy Award-winning actress, who performs her acclaimed play, As I Am, chronicling her remarkable life.

Songs from Lucie Arnaz and Laurence Luckinbill

Lucie Arnaz and Laurence Luckinbill are performing together. The theatrical pair does songs from Arnaz's cabaret show and scenes from Luckinbill's plays.

The shows are being presented in partnership with the Theatre Guild, said a press release from Crystal. The Crystal Serenity itself is a star. It was voted "best mid-sized ship" for 2008 by the readers of Condé Nast Traveler magazine.

Lecturers On Board

In addition to these artists, the ship features a Celebrity Guest Speaker Alvin Shuster, a former foreign correspondent for The New York Times who is now senior consulting editor of the Los Angeles Times. With his global experience, he focuses on international affairs.

Another lecturer on board is Dr. Roman Pryjomko of Italy, an author and senior advisor to the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) who specializes in speaking about how cultural geography and geopolitics helps understand challenges such as terrorism, extreme poverty and climate change.

The itinerary starts in Venice and calls at Dubrovnik, Croatia; Taormina, Sorrento, Rome, Florence and Elba, Italy, and ends with an overnight stay in Monte Carlo.
